Hans Karl Wytrzens

Associate Professor for Regional Planning, Regional Economics and Project Management at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna.For several years head of the Department of Economics and Social Sciences; current head of the Institute for Sustainable Economic Development; in addition vice head of the university course Rural Real Estate Management at BOKU; earlier longtime secretary and former president of the Austrian Association of Agricultural Economists, Österreichische Gesellschaftfür Agrarökonomie (ÖGA);research scholarships at the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, and at the Rhenish Frederic-Wilhelm’s-University, Bonn;research fellowship in the Principality of Liechtenstein; manager of various research and rural development projects

He publisheda lot of scientific papers and a number of textbooks, among those an introductory one about project management (meanwhile the fifth edition); furthermore he was managing editor of “Die Bodenkultur – Austrian Journal of Agricultural Research” for one decade.At the BOKU Vienna he gives lectures about:Project Management (lecture, seminar); Coaching of Project managers (seminar), Project Management advanced (seminar); Methods and tools for rural management (lecture), Rural Planning (seminar). Additional extensive international teaching activities: regular lecturing at the Free University of Bolzano, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague,University of Applied Sciences IMC FH Krems; co-organiser of annual ELLS summer schools: Economics, Management and Social Sciences: Their Application in Rural Development.

Main fields of research and teaching: rural development and project management; specific interest on organisational and social aspects of regional development projects; externalities of landuse, agricultural land market; demographic change in rural areas.
